Imtech shores up ICT portfolio in Germany

Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) has acquired German ICT specialist Neo GmbH. With its 45 employees, Neo realised revenues of 4 million euro in 2007. Neo is being integrated into Imtech's German ICT division, to augment Imtech's ICT portfolio in Germany. The management of Neo will stay on after the acquisition, thus guaranteeing continuity.

Neo, established in Hannover in 2001 and with a branch in Stuttgart, is a fast-growing, certified SAP Service Partner delivering quality SAP applications to some 100 medium-sized and large German clients in industry, the consumer market and the care sector. Neo specialises in SAP technology in support of primary and secondary business processes, such as mobile applications, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), portals (including portals for e-commerce) and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). In the field of mobile applications in particular, Neo in Germany is one of the strongest players, with projects in other European countries as well.


In Germany, Imtech's ICT division (Fritz und Macziol and Infoma®) numbers over 2,500 ICT clients, and is one of the biggest players on the German ICT market, with strong partnership relationships with world market leaders IBM and Microsoft. Over 400 of these clients use ERP applications based on SAP technology in combination with IBM software and hardware. It is this specific combination that offers so much growth potential. The acquisition of Neo will make it possible to widely roll out attractive, IBM hardware and software-based SAP applications in Germany. To achieve this, Neo will be operating as a fully integrated business unit of Fritz und Macziol. Neo's clients, in turn, will be gaining access to the full additional service package of Fritz und Macziol and Infoma®.

Imtech Strategy

Imtech combines electrical engineering, ICT (information and communication technology) and mechanical engineering into high-tech total solutions. The proportion of information and communications technology in this total package is growing fast. More and more often, Imtech's total technological solutions are controlled by umbrella ICT applications, making expansion of Imtech's European ICT activities strategically important. Imtech is focusing primarily on reinforcement of its position as business partner of IBM and Microsoft. In the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK, Imtech has already built a strong position in the ICT market as IBM and Microsoft partner. With the acquisition of Neo, which fits perfectly in this strategic framework, Imtech further strengthens its ICT position in Germany. Earlier this year, Imtech also acquired ICT companies in the UK, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria, with total revenues of nearly 125 million euro.
