New chemicals tanker for Wijgula - naming ceremony in Druten
The Tinnemans shipyard at Maasbracht in the Netherlands constructed the ship’s hull. De Gerlien van Tiem in Druten on the river Waal handled the other building work. The tanker is precisely adapted to the restrictions on dimensions, which have to be taken into account on French domestic waterways when transporting goods. The vessel’s capacity of 750 tonnes replaces about 30 trucks on each journey. Wijgula has leased the tanker to IMPERIAL Logistics SARL, Hambach (France) with the aim of complying with all the conditions and stipulations, which need to be considered in France when transporting commercial goods on inland waterways.
IMPERIAL Logistics International has pooled the management of a fleet of 63 double-hulled inland waterway tankers, some belonging to IMPERIAL and others chartered, at the Wijgula shipping company. The latter as founded in 1922 and has its headquarters in the Dutch town of Druten on the river Waal. These vessels can transport any liquid gas products approved for shipment on inland waterways.
