Mit dem 4k-IP-Extender von Opticis können Desktop-Inhalte über große Distanzen übertragen werden. Dank des TCP/IP-Protokolls kann der Inhalt einfach in existierende Netzwerke eingespeist werden. Neben HDMI mit 4k für das Display überträgt der IPKVM-500-ED von Opticis auch USB und RS-232 für Tastatur, Maus und andere Geräte sowie Stereo-Audio. Mit einer geringen Latenz von weniger als einem Frame folgt der Mauszeiger dem Bild spontan. Durch Multicast, also der simultanen Übertragung an bis zu 200 Teilnehmer, ist die Verteilung des Signals ohne aufwändige Video-Verteiler-möglich.
