High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital invest in the "pneumatics without shock absorber" technology of InnoMotix GmbH
Innovative cylinder control convinced investors and industry alike
The German market for pneumatic cylinders is growing and is worth 585 million EURO, representing approximately 3.5 million cylinders. Pneumatic is robust and inexpensive, but conventional shock absorbers in pneumatic actuators up to now require regular maintenance, which results in increasing machine downtime. Due to varying operating conditions and the absence of automatic adaptation the operators are forced to run the machines slower than planned. Conventional shock absorbers are also up to now not suitable for handling sensitive goods.
Due to the increasing cost pressure, the need to automate and therefore to use pneumatics will increase further. As in the past, aboveaverage growth rates are expected for pneumatic systems, even in comparison to hydraulic systems. An innovative system like the one of InnoMotix opens up the pneumatic technology for entirely new applications (e.g. the handling of sensitive items, or jobs with high accuracy requirements), thereby offering the potential for accelerated growth of the pneumatic market through a strategy of market expansion.
Manfred Kober, cofounder and CEO of InnoMotix GmbH, views the investment by the High-Tech Gründerfonds and by Bayern Kapital as laying the foundation for a successful market entry, "Now we can perfect our software, quickly develop our prototypes into marketable products and develop other sizes. In the autumn of this year we want to enter the market."
Dr. Matthias Dill, investment manager at the High-Tech Gründerfonds, says, "With its patented breakthrough technology, InnoMotix enables pneumatic machinery to run more efficiently and more smoothly. We are happy to invest in a company which can play a crucial role in improving the productivity of automation."
Rosi Keimerl, senior investment manager of Bayern Kapital GmbH, comments: "The InnoMotix GmbH is characterized by a highly dedicated team of founders. We are convinced that they can lead the company to a sustainable market success. This round of financing enables the team to develop the technology to its full potential."
Dr. Rolf-Christian Wentz, who as a angel investor invests in InnoMotix GmbH alongside the High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital adds: "The InnoMotix cylinder control has already received a strong response from customers. This lets us expect a very successful market entry."
About InnoMotix GmbH:
InnoMotix develops, manufactures and sells innovative system solutions in the automation of pneumatic cylinders. The young technology company with headquarters in Feldkirchen-Westerham, Bavaria offers integrated solutions for cylinder control systems for various industrial applications. The system solution of InnoMotix differentiates itself from competitors through the special suitability for all types of pneumatic cylinders: Through his ruckand shockfree movement, they offer an ideal solution for all highdynamic pneumatic applications. The possibility of internal and external cushioning creates new economic solutions. Some industries, for example the food industry, are banned from using oil dampers. A wider range of applications is covered by the innovative pneumatic."
