Norwegian High Density Devices AS' [hiddn] encryption secures Swedish MilDef's ruggedized tablets
High Density Devices AS provides encryption for MilDef tablet
(PresseBox) (Oslo, Norway, )Introducing the [hiddn](TM) LTDR8 encryption for tablets; the solution to the increasing problem with protection of data and encryption keys in areas where threat levels are high. Leaving behind equipment presents a major risk, however, with full disk encryption of data in addition to an assured and robust mechanism for secure deletion of all key material, users can without concern leave behind their tablets, should the situation call for it.
The battle tested and widely adopted Panther DR886 is a cornerstone in the MilDef portfolio, and for very good reasons. With a wide array of mounting options, a design built for rugged and harsh environments, the Panther DR886 is the ideal solution for operational intelligence. Further securing its environment, the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified [hiddn](TM) hardware encryption protects all data and keys with AES256 hardware encryption, transparently and independent of platform and operating system.
This enables users to operate the tablet freely, without concern, as only holders of the external key token storing the keys are able to access the tablet - with the integrated hardware zeroize button, information assurance and regulatory compliance is maintained even if the equipment is left behind or compromised.
If a vehicle, naval vessel, secure premise or a field operational centre have to be emergency evacuated, users can confidently leave behind their Panther tablets as, by pressing the integrated zeroize button, the zeroize mechanism of the [hiddn](TM) LTDR8 will immediately and securely erase all key material stored in the device, effectively resetting the Panther leaving it inaccessible to anyone.
"We are very proud to work with MilDef on securing their unique Panther tablet, and the [hiddn](TM) LTDR8 is tailored to meet users' demands for rigorous data protection without compromising operation or user experience", states HDD Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Tormod Fjellgård. MilDef's Sales Manager Mr. Fredrik Jacobsson adds that "At MilDef we are continuously striving to improve our offerings, and the cooperation with High Density Devices on encryption of our tablets gives our customers an added value as data protection becomes more and more important."
The [hiddn](TM) LTDR8 encrypted Panther with hardware zeroize mechanism will be showcased at the MilDef stand at the Norwegian Defense and Security Industries Association (FSi) annual networking conference and exhibition at the Akershus Fortress, Oslo, on September 12 and 13 2012.
