Sri Lanka Managing Directress of Hellmann won gold award in supply chain

Women in Management (WIM) in association with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) member of World Bank held the Professional and Career Women Award 2016 for the sixth consecutive year last week amidst many parliamentarians, diplomats and professionals in business and government sectors.

Under this year’s theme of “Taking Sri Lankan women to the world”, the ceremony awarded close to 80 women who have played influential roles in their careers from diverse sectors.

Women in Management (WIM) & IFC has selected Mrs Polonnowita Wettimuny, considering her contribution to the national and regional economy in the area of Logistics & Freight Forwarding. Mrs Wettimuny being the First Woman Chairperson in the Indian Sub continent to hold such a position in an apex of this nature. The objective of the award is to highlight and honor her contribution, achievements, experience and creativity in leading the institutions, professions and businesses by seizing opportunities and overcoming the future challenges that face the nation and region.
