Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and cargo.one sign cooperation agreement driving digitalization of logistics industry forward
As a logistics service provider that focuses on innovation, Hellmann is one of the first customers of the Berlin-based company and thus plays a pioneering role in the digitalization of the logistics industry. Initially, Hellmann will use the carrier-independent platform throughout Germany before implementing the tool across its network in a worldwide roll-out.
For Bart de Vries, Chief Operating Officer Air & Sea at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, the cooperation represents a progressive step towards greater transparency, efficiency and customer orientation: "With cargo.one, digitalization has arrived in air freight. Cargo One GmbH (cargo.one) was founded in Berlin in August 2017 by the entrepreneurs Moritz Claussen, Oliver Neumann and Mike Rötgers. The company is developing a SaaS platform for booking and marketing air freight. cargo.one focuses on offering and booking dynamic spot rates, making it the first platform of its kind. IATA air freight forwarders can search, compare and book these spot rates on the cargo.one platform in real time and receive immediate booking confirmation. Partner airlines gain access to a cost-effective, data-driven and fully digital distribution channel. cargo.one's product changes long and asynchronous booking processes by telephone or e-mail, enabling substantial savings on both sides. The cargo.one team combines international experience in building digital business models with relevant expertise in the modernization of B2B processes. Together, the team successfully built up the Berlin-based FinTech company OptioPay GmbH and was able to convince many well-known companies of its digital expertise.
