At the 57th International Calendar Show in Stuttgart, the 2007 calendar from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) received a silver award. The calendar's motto is: "The world of finishings - experience creativity and individuality." At the opening of the calendar show, Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economic Affairs Ernst Pfister and the chairman of the Graphischer Klub Stuttgart e.V., Peter Schwend, presented the certificate to the Heidelberg team. A total of 1,094 calendars were entered, 951 of which were from Germany. Ten other countries took part in the competition.

The panel of judges from the Graphischer Klub Stuttgart e.V. is made up of nine experts from the sector. The calendars are assessed according to four criteria - overall impression, functionality and originality, marketing concept with design, photography and typography, and the quality of production, including typesetting, reproduction, printing, and bookbinding. Gold was awarded a total of six times, silver 18 times, and bronze 32 times.

The 2007 calendar from Heidelberg measures 43 x 67 centimeters (16.9 x 26.4 inches). It shows the range and variety of flowers and leaves and plays with the artistic combination of metamorphoses, knowing no boundaries. The International Institute of Plant Sciences in Heidelberg, the photographic designer Richard Fischer from Rauenberg, and the cct advertising agency in Heidelberg joined forces with Heidelberg to produce the calendar.

The aim was to find a culturally neutral theme for the wall calendar so that it could be sent to Heidelberg customers throughout the world. Secondly, it was shown how amazing results can be achieved by using both simple and more elaborate finishing techniques.

The individual monthly sheets were provided with a special effect as well as standard CMYK printing. Sometimes a spot coating with gloss was used, other times matt. Sometimes Iriodin Silver or MFX Silver were printed in addition to CMYK to reinforce the realism of the leaves and flowers. On another occasion, a soft touch coating was applied or plant sections embossed to reinforce the plant structure. Silk-matt coating or golden cold foil was also used to present the plants as naturally as possible.

The calendar was printed in a run of 10,000 in Heidelberg on a Speedmaster CD 102 and 250 gram per squaremeter glossy art paper was used. The printing plates were created on a Suprasetter CTP system, while the embossing was performed on a Dymatrix 106 die-cutter.
