The HBZ® CompactCell from Handtmann is taking root in the market
To be able to serve the market for comparatively smaller workpieces in the future but without dispensing the economic concept of horizontal machining, Handtmann provides the new 5-axis horizontal machining centre HBZ® CompactCell. The machine is ideally designed for horizontal machining of hard to machine workpieces up to 2x1 meters. Equipped with powerful high-power spindles with up to 75 kW and 30,000 rpm as well as high travel speeds and accelerations, the requirement of high chip removal rates is fulfilled. With this development, Handtmann enters a new field in designing machining centres for comparably small workpieces - but without foregoing the power the HBZ® AeroCell® is providing.
The huge amount of recent orders which where for a big part recorded through orders for the HBZ® CompactCell, speaks for itself: The new concept shows success! Since the first HBZ® CompactCell which was presented at the AMB last year and which already had a buyer before the beginning of the show, several machines of this type have been sold successfully to aerospace customers. The compact machine design of the HBZ® CompactCell with economic solutions for palette changing convinces already today diverse customers from Europe and even from the United Arab Emirates.
The new customer, a supplier of aircraft components is situated in Abu Dhabi and has big trust in Handtmann and is already planning its future production capacities with a number of machining centres of the type HBZ® AeroCell® 500/200 as well as other HBZ® CompactCell 200/100. With this big order Handtmann is not only obtaining a new customer, Handtmann also opened up a new market.
