(PresseBox) (Herrsching am Ammersee, ) With the linear and precise pure phase modulation of the LCOS-SLM from Hamamatsu Photonics, optimized for high light utilization (90%) and high diffraction efficiency, you get a tool to efficiently control your light.

The X10468 LCOS series covers a wide spectral range from 355 nm to 1550 nm.The high light utilization efficiency mainly depends on reflectivity, and the amount of diffraction loss caused by the pixel structure. We adopted advanced CMOS technology to make diffraction loss smaller. As a result, the diffraction loss is less than 5 %.

The modules with a dielectric mirror have a very high reflectivity. Therefore, these types offer very high total light utilization efficiency of about 90 %. Applications with high power lasers such as femtosecond Ti:Sa lasers become easily possible.

On the other hand the broadband modules cover multi purpose applications from the visible up to the telecommunication wavelength band of 1550 nm with the tradeoff of a lower light utilization efficiency of about 72 %.The X10468 series can be easily controlled via a PC using the Digital Video Interface (DVI). Distortions in the LCOS chip, such as wavefront distortion and nonlinear response of the LC, are compensated efficiently and automatically by the controller, leading to a very precise and linear phase modulation characteristics.

The X10468 LCOS-SLM modules can be easily used for applications such as multi point laser material processing, optical manipulation, wave-front correction, laser pulse shaping, adaptive optics for imaging (eg. retinal imaging), microscopy applications (e.g. optical tweezers, STED, CARS) and many more.

Beyond that we developed dedicated optical systems for wavefront and laserpulse shaping employing the X10468 modules.
