N.A.T. presents enhanced version of its MicroTCA Carrier Hub NAT-MCH
Revision 2.0 of the NAT-MCH with new mechanics and full redundancy support now available.
The NAT-MCH is the central switching resource for any MicroTCA system and dedicated to any application in the communication, the aerospace and defense, the medical or the industrial market. Due to its modular design the NAT-MCH allows customers to build full scalable MicroTCA systems by selecting the required and omitting the non-required features offered by the MicroTCA and AMC standards.
Besides its already available support for GbE, telecom clocks, fabric clocks and PCI Express (PCIe) for smaller systems the NAT-MCH now offers full PCIe and SRIO support. All fabrics can be scaled to individually support 6 or 12 AMCs in a MicroTCA system.
The NAT-MCH is now available with the Harting Plug on all all four tongues, massively reducing the required insertion or extraction force and improving the mechanical fit as well as the electrical connection to the MicroTCA backplane.
Together with the new hardware release the firmware has been upgraded to fully support redundant environments with redundant MCHs and Power Modules. The new firmware also offers access by external system managers via backplane and face plate GbE. However, special care has been taken to also support MicroTCA systems that do not fully comply with the standard.
Both the new hardware and firmware has been successfully qualified in interoperability tests with all major backplane vendors and AMC and power supply manufacturers.
The NAT-MCH fully complies with the applicable PICMG MicroTCA.x and PICMG AMC.x specifications in their most recent release.
