N.A.T., the expert for high performance connectivity products for data and (tele-)communication solutions, announces that they have been awarded a prestigious "Best of Show Awards" at the ATCA Summit in Santa Clara, California, in the category "Best Hardware Product" with the latest MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) featuring PCIe and SRIO Gen2.

The distinctive feature of the new NAT-MCH is the doubled bandwidth of PCIe and SRIO based MicroTCA systems because it supports the second generation of PCIe (PCI Express) and SRIO (SerialRapidIO) switch devices.

The NAT-MCH is the central switching and management resource for any MicroTCA system and dedicated to any application in the embedded market. Due to its modular design the NAT-MCH allows customers to build full scalable MicroTCA systems by selecting the required and omitting the non-required features offered by the MicroTCA and AMC standards.

"We are honoured to have received the ATCA Summit Committee's Award" said Heiko Körte, Director of Sales and Marketing at N.A.T. who received the trophy on behalf of N.A.T. He congratulated the development team involved and added "the development team did an excellent job of turning market needs into a leading edge product time-bound. The developers put great effort in fast and sustainable support and service. The technical significance of NATMCH PCIe and SRIO Gen 2 is the doubled bandwidth."

The NAT-MCH supports up to 12 AMC slots with 4 lanes and 2 uplink ports each with 4 lanes to the front panel. In addition to GbE, clocks (telecom and fabric) and fat pipes as PCI Express, SRIO and XAUI (10GbE), the NAT-MCH offers enhanced features as port trunking for GbE or fat pipe uplinks (CX4 and SFP+). The functionality is completed by a real USB port, support for GPS and Telecom frequencies by the clock mezzanine module.

The NAT-MCH firmware fully supports redundant environments as well as load sharing with multiple power modules. Enhanced debugging features include the support of the power safe System Event Log (i.e. for post-mortem analysis). The JAVA based GUI NATView is available as improved version offering options like Backplane Connectivity Viewer and FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) Editor for adding or deleting multi-records.

"AdvancedTCA and its companion product MicroTCA is sparking incredible innovation for our next generation of high-performance telecom applications," said Ernie Bergstrom, President of Crystal Cube Consulting and Chairperson of the AdvancedTCA Summit. "We are proud to recognize the achievements of N.A.T. with their NAT-MCH product as they are on their way to introducing a whole new wave of solutions that will enable the successful design of MicroTCA systems in the marketplace".
