GFT-104/105 Membrane Keyboards with Antibacterial Coating

The steady increase of IPC in germ sensitive applications requires the use of sterile data input devices. For the membrane keyboards GFT-104/105, GeBE worked with a partner to develop a special antibacterial coating. This nano composit coating protects the keyboard, the housing, and also parts of the cable. The customer will benefit from the complete protection of the whole device, unlike conventional coatings that often only protect the membrane surface.

No Germ Transfer from Input
In hospitals, computers are everywhere. From surgical facilities and medical research laboratories to the hospital kitchen - data input is a must in each area. In order to ensure sterile data input in these extremely sanitary and sensitive work areas, GeBE worked with a partner to develop an antibacterial coating.

Interface Between Medicine and Technology
The coating material has been custom developed for hygiene sensitive surface applications to prevent the growth and spread of bacteria. The nano composit coating guarantees an even distribution of the antibacterial component.

Closing Safety Gaps
Unlike the conventional coated membrane keyboards in the market, the complete device including housing and cable are covered with the antibacterial coating, not just the keyboard membrane. This helps to further close safety gaps caused by germs between human and machine.
