Missile with 680 hp - G-POWER M4 F82

G-POWER M4 F82 - with the new evolutionary stage V4 of the Bi-Tronik 2 the BMW M4 becomes a street-legal missile with 680 hp

(PresseBox) (Aresing/ Ot. Autenzell, ) Powered by BMW’s legendary TwinPower Turbo straight-six engine, which leaves the factory with 431 hp and 550 Nm of torque, the M4 offers high performance with comfort and practicality. BMW specialist G-POWER has already demonstrated their ability to tap the latent potential present in the 3.0 litre motor. A combination of hardware and software upgrades is used to extract a whopping 600 hp, with 740 Nm of torque.

Now, leveraging decades of experience tuning sporty BMW models and capturing numerous high-speed world records in the process, the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 2 V4 upgrade raises the bar even further. Thus equipped, the M4 now boasts a supercar roasting 680 hp, accompanied by 760 Nm of torque.

With increasing power output the engineering work is growing exponentially. Best example is the evolutionary stage V4 of the Bi-Tronik 2 remap. Especially when focusing next to the power output enhancement also on the reliability and durability of the basic engine like G-POWER. This means programming and testing, programming and testing until finally all challenges are mastered and the engineering process of the new product is completed after countless dyno runs and test kilometers. Thus, the extra power extracted from the S55B30 engine is a function of the oil and water temperatures, and respects all its OE protection and diagnostic functions.

Since the standard turbocharger system cannot flow enough air to reach these heady power levels, G-POWER carry out significant modifications. The most significant of these is the replacement of the standard compressor wheel with a larger precision CNC milled unit, developed and manufactured in-house by G-POWER’s engineering team.

Various other modifications are carried out to improve the flow rate and speed and volume, resulting in a big increase in efficiency. As the new wheel is also lighter, inertia and spin up time are reduced, which results in better throttle response. At the same time the engineers addressed the exhaust turbine wheel, which uses curved turbine blades with capped ends to ensure reduced exhaust gas temperatures. This in itself allows the use of higher boost pressures. The turbocharger housing had to be machined out to accommodate the new compressor and exhaust turbine wheels, and internal gas flow optimization was also carried out. Finally, dynamic fine balancing ensures long-term reliability of the unit. The G-POWER M4 now leaps off the line, hitting 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds. And thanks to the removal of the electronic Vmax limiter, it easily strides up to over 330 km/h.

The exhaust note is a very important ingredient for the enthusiast engineers at G-POWER, who put a lot of effort into creating the hearty soundtrack that accompanies their M4 Convertible’s incredible performance. Crafted from titanium, the bespoke ultra-lightweight exhaust system delivers rousing ear candy from its four 90-millimeter carbon fibre tailpipes.

To ensure the uprated M-Cabriolet maintains perfect road manners, G-POWER install their G4M RS fully adjustable coilover suspension, and a set of HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels in GTS color scheme and 9.0x21 and 10.5x21 inch sizes, shod with 245/30R21 and 295/25R21 high performance tyres.
