With 420 hp the S65 V8 high-revving engine from the BMW M3 E9X is everything but underpowered. But which BMW M3 driver would turn down a little "extra" in performance, torque and revving vivacity?

Of course the modular character of the G-POWER supercharger systems has been a big advantage for the engineers in order to do so. As a result a maximum of common parts with the existing M3 V8 supercharger systems - that have been serially produced using the latest state-of-the-art production processes for 6 years now- has been realised. The same applies for the basic principle of the SK Plus concept: low-boost forced induction of a stock engine. With this concept G-POWER has gathered experience for more than 10 years now, ever since the successful introduction of the SK Plus supercharger system for the BMW 3-series E46 and Z4 E85. The secret of the low-boosted forced induction is to keep the boost level as low as 4,3 psi in order to keep the compressed air "cool", thus making a sophisticated intercooling system superfluous. At the same time the extremely efficient ASA supercharger is supporting the result of the power output enhancement as well, since it consumes considerable less drive power than a similarly configured Roots-type supercharger, and provides at the same time a significant lower boost temperature. Less drive power for the supercharger equals more absolute power output for the engine.
In the end the power output enhancement provided by the G-POWER M3 V8 SK Plus supercharger system adds up to a very traceable 55 hp and 80 Nm of torque. That means the overall output of the BMW M3 E9X is pushed from 420 hp/400 Nm to a sporty 475hp/480 Nm, that's more than a BMW M3 GTS can provide.

Because "chip tuning" can't provide a noticeable power output enhancement and "stroker engines" with a similar power output enhancement are disproportionate more expensive.
