Fujitsu Zero Client Infrastructure Bundles: A New Way to Plug and Play Desktop Virtualization
Preconfigured bundles make virtualized desktops easy and fast for business- and channel partners to deploy
(PresseBox) (Regensdorf, )For small and medium sized companies that want to save time and money while also gaining flexibility and scalability, Fujitsu's Zero Client Infrastructure Bundles can provide these benefits and more. Users can access their virtual desktop instantly from any workplace within a network, and these profiles are centrally stored and updated - helping to reduce hardware and maintenance costs. At the same time, the user experience includes all the familiar elements of a traditional desktop environment.
The Zero Client Infrastructure Bundles, with preconfigured packages for up to 50 workplaces, are perfect for deployment by channel partners. For partners looking to help customers set up a Zero Client environment, Fujitsu's preconfigured bundles simplify virtualization and provide convenient and costefficient configuration. Partners no longer need to spend days configuring the right infrastructure for each business, testing performance, and deciding what equipment is necessary; with Fujitsu's infrastructure bundles the hard work is already done.
At the heart of each configuration is a Fujitsu PRIMERGY server and Fujitsu's Zero Client frontend devices. Fujitsu's Zero Client remains the leanest computing device on the market today. The PRIMERGY server includes a VMware virtualization layer - offered both with and without preconfigured, preinstalled Windows Server software.
All four infrastructure bundles include an additional display, mouse and keyboard to administer the server. The Basic15 and Basic50 bundles are an ideal solution for companies who already have software and just need hardware to implement a Zero Client Infrastructure, while the Complete20 and Complete50 bundles add a preinstalled server operating system, plus network features such as Active Directory for domain management. For enterprises looking to implement VDI across more than 50 workplaces, Fujitsu offers tailored solutions.
Fujitsu's Zero Client Infrastructure bundles also integrate seamlessly with existing serveranddesktop solutions, and the rollout can be extended as office PCs reach the end of their lifecycle. This provides easy scalability and flexibility for the solution to grow over time, particularly important for many small and medium sized businesses.
Rajat Kakar, Vice President Workplace Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: "The next stage in the Zero Client revolution is the introduction of these complete infrastructure bundles. Fujitsu is focused on making it easier than ever to switch and enjoy the benefits of Zero Clients, including enhanced security, lowcost, high efficiency, and minimal maintenance. Preconfigured packages are tested for performance and are ready to go out of the box, helping our channel partners to provide their customers with the right package, ready for rapid deployment."
