Innovation Award Laser Technology 2008

(PresseBox) (Aachen, ) ELI (the European Laser Institute) and the Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V. will introduce this bi-annual Innovation Award in 2008. Further details can be found at the web site

We would like to encourage you and your colleagues to consider applying for this award, which is open to both individuals and groups of researchers. The successful application will receive a fellowship of both the organizations mentioned above and in addition, a monetary prize to the value of 10,000 Euros.

The closing date for the 2008 competition will be February 1st , 2008, and the winner will be presented with the award during the International Laser Technology Congress AKL08, to be held in Aachen, from May 7th -- 9th , 2008.

Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik AKL e.V. is a registered non-profit association formed in 1990 by a group of companies and private individuals aiming to pool their experience and conduct joint public-relations activities in order to spread the use of laser technology in industry and promote the sharing of scientific ideas. In 2007, around 80 laser experts and enthusiasts were signed up as active members of the AKL network. The association's activities include disseminating information on innovations in laser technology, organizing conferences and seminars, compiling educational material dealing with laser technology, stimulating the interest of future young scientists, and providing advice to industry and research scientists on questions relating to laser technology.
