Thermo Fisher Scientific Receives Prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award
Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Analyzers Recognized for Design Distinction among Thousands of Worldwide Submissions
The GOOD DESIGN Awards, the world's oldest design competition of its kind, are conferred annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. In November 2010, an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts and cultural leaders met in New York City and selected more than 500 product designs and graphics worthy to receive the GOOD DESIGN Award for design distinction. The Museum received a record number of entries from around the world and chose recipients representing more than 36 nations. The Chicago Athenaeum will hold the GOOD DESIGN SHOW in Chicago in June 2011.
"Achieving our primary goal of helping users save time and improve their productivity with fast, reliable and repeatable results would not be possible without an ergonomically designed instrument that was created with human and environmental factors in mind," said Bob Wopperer, director of marketing and business development for Niton Analyzers at Thermo Fisher Scientific. "From the inside out, these instruments were designed to make our customers more successful."
In 2010, Niton XL2 XRF handheld analyzers also won an Editor's Choice Award from Pollution Engineering magazine in the Remediation category. "The fact that we continue to receive awards for our Thermo Scientific Niton analyzer products as they evolve technologically is a clear indication that Thermo Fisher's continued investment in research and development is striking the right chord in the marketplace," added Wopperer.
About Niton XL2 Series Analyzers
Niton® XL2 Series analyzers, now available with geometrically optimized large are drift detector (GOLDD) technology, are engineered for taking measurements anywhere, anytime, with accurate results available in seconds, saving significant expense compared to traditional laboratory testing. These easy-to-use, nondestructive instruments provide integrated storage of all test results, which are completely tamperproof. They incorporate customizable menus for ease of use, multilanguage options and a standard analytical range of more than 25 elements, including light elements (Mg-S). Multiple communication options are incorporated, including Bluetooth* wireless and USB communications.
They also come standard with Thermo Scientific Niton Data Transfer (NDT©) software, a suite of data management utilities that allows users to set operator permissions, print certificates of analysis to document results, export data into standard formats (.csv or MS Excel), or operate the analyzer remotely from a PC. The NDT file format preserves and protects the original data from each sample analysis, ensuring that data is not unintentionally or intentionally compromised.
Thermo Fisher Scientific customers are served through corporate resources and a dedicated network of more than 70 distributors and 30 factory-trained service centers around the world. Thermo Scientific Niton analyzers are available in a range of configurations and with an assortment of optional features and accessories to suit a wide variety of analytical needs.
