1st International Conference on PV Module Recycling

(PresseBox) (Brussels, ) In the framework of the international collaboration between IEA PVPS Task 12 "Environment Health & Safety", EPIA, PV CYCLE and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC), the 1st International Conference on PV Module Recycling will be held on the 26 January 2010 in Berlin, Germany.

The event aims at presenting the stateoftheart PV module recycling and providing a platform for discussion between the PV industry and the most experienced players in recycling from other related sectors.

The event will be split into two main sessions:

- The first session will provide an overview of all the recovery and recycling techniques for the different PV technologies (c-Si, CdTe, CIGS, thin film silicon). Presentations will be given by the most experienced industry and knowledgeable research centres.

- The second session, will be dedicated to industries involved in recycling processes from other sectors (e.g WEEE recycling, glass, lamps, etc.) to share their experiences and synergies which could be applied to the PV module recycling technologies.

- In the last session a discussion on recycling costs and future plans for recycling in the EU will be held.

More information on the conference is available here:

Over 100 participants are expected to attend this event.

PRESS Registration : . Please provide your full details with your registration.

PV CYCLE was founded in July 2007 to implement the photovoltaic industry's commitment to set up a voluntary take back and recycling programme for endoflifemodules and to take responsibility for PV modules throughout their entire value chain. More information:

European Photovoltaic Industry Association

With more than 200 Member companies drawn from across the entire solar electricity sector, the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) is the world's largest photovoltaic industry association and represents about 95% of the European photovoltaic industry and 80% of the worldwide photovoltaic industry. EPIA members are present throughout the whole valuechain: from silicon, cells and module production to systems development. EPIA represents the interests of its member companies at the national, international and global level. Its mission is to deliver a distinct and valuable service driven from the strength of a single photovoltaic voice. More information:
