Die European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) schließt das Jahr 2009 mit einem zufriedenstellenden Ergebnis der Handelsvolumina im Markt für Erdgas und CO2-Emissionsrechten.

Eine positive Entwicklung verzeichnete die EEX im Jahr 2009 im kurzfristigen Handel mit Erdgas. Das Handelsvolumen am Spotmarkt (Marktgebiete Gaspool und NCG) verdreifachte sich auf 3.515.567 MWh gegenüber 1.169.780 MWh im Vorjahr.

Am Terminmarkt für Erdgas belief sich das gehandelte Volumen im Jahr 2009 auf 11.360.866 MWh (Marktgebiete Gaspool und NCG) gegenüber 16.340.980 MWh im Vorjahr.

Am EEX Spotmarkt für EU Emissionsberechtigungen (EUA) betrug das in 2009 gehandelte Volumen 9.708.541 EUA. Am 16.
