Dutch King and Queen visit EEX
"We are very honoured that the Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited EEX as part of their tour of Germany", says Peter Reitz, Chief Executive Officer of EEX. "The power markets for Germany and the Netherlands are already closely interconnected. Moreover EEX Group also has a presence in Amsterdam with the local office of EPEX SPOT. And, for us, the visit by the King and Queen is a special recognition of our activities in the European and, particularly, the Dutch Markets."
In addition to a tour of EEX Market Supervision, the agenda included an expert meeting with the Management Board of EEX as well as a representative of the transmission system operator TenneT and the energy supplier enviaM. The tour of the market supervision focused on the presentation of the products and services of EEX and a direct insight into the trading activities. In the expert meeting, State Minister Dulig explained the challenges of the energy transition, in particular, with a view to the power supply in Germany and Saxony. Afterwards, the activities of the transmission system operators in the field of grid expansion were presented.
