Eurocopter CEO, Lutz Bertling is proud to hand over the 100th EC155 B1 to Dancopter CEO Nils Skeby at the Paris Air Show today. The Scandinavian operator is a long-standing Eurocopter customer operating already 5 EC155s in the North Sea oil and gas market, and one of the launch customers of the EC175 with 2 on order. This latest hand-over also marks the 900th helicopter from Eurocopter's successful Dauphin family. Dancopter is the EC155B1 fleet leader in terms of flight hours logged, and therefore a natural partner in the success and development of this program.

The 13 passenger (plus one pilot) EC155 is the latest addition to the Dauphin family. It is a twin-engine, long range helicopter with the very latest technological innovation; making it one of the most reliable helicopters on the market today. Powered by two FADEC-equipped Turbomeca Arriel 2C2 engines with a fast cruising speed of 143 knots, the EC155's a wider, roomier cabin makes it the largest in its class. The EC155's advanced Fenestron tail rotor and five-blade rotor means it is also the quietest rotorcraft in its category, and ensures superior manoeuvrability, performance and reliability.

Since the aircraft was launched in 1975, more than 950 helicopters from the Dauphin range have been sold in 64 countries. Some 300 customers operate the Dauphin today, including the U.S. Coast Guard, the French Navy, the Brazilian Army and many offshore operators. The aircraft's fantastic reliability, multi-purpose capability and continuously improved state-of-the-art technology make it an automatic choice for a wide range of civil, parapublic and military missions, including oil & gas operations, search & rescue (SAR) assignments, anti-submarine warfare, as well as troop and VIP/corporate passenger transport. The Dauphin's success shows no signs of abating: Approximately 50 Dauphin helicopters are sold each year.
