Eunetworks upgrades fiber optic network in düsseldorf and offers extreme performance services to businesses

(PresseBox) (Düsseldorf / Frankfurt , ) euNetworks (SGX: H23.SI), Europe's foremost provider of mission-critical, extreme performance and capacity data services, today announced that it has upgraded its fiber optic network in Düsseldorf (Germany) to meet the ever-increasing networking requirements within and beyond the borders of the state capital. Via this highly improved network, the company will supply a range of new on-demand and bespoke highperformance services, such as pan-European datacenter and stock exchange connectivity, to enterprises, carriers and service providers.

On-demand or bespoke solutions connecting Düsseldorf to Europe's leading cities

euNetworks has pre-provisioned over a terabit of capacity throughout their Düsseldorf and pan-European network to enable extreme performance data services on-demand.

Düsseldorf's businesses can now draw down instant connectivity between cities, bourses, datacenters or Internet exchanges with dedicated Ethernet (1GigE to 10GigE), Wavelengths(10G for customer bespoke applications) or IP (multi-homed to deliver true scalability and redundancy).

One of the products which customers are now able to use is datacenter|nex; connecting hundreds of datacenters across Europe at a fixed price. Services are delivered either ondemand for instant connectivity across euNetworks' European infrastructure, or over dedicated fiber, which is built and managed exclusively for the customer.

cloud|nex enables Düsseldorf's businesses to exploit the power of cloud computing, virtualisation, web-services or content delivery through on-demand 1 to 10Gig Ethernet or dedicated fiber between corporate locations and datacenters, core and edge hosting environments. Additionally, cloud|nex provides edge connectivity to the internet, wireless or corporate networks over a scalable, high performance IP network. cloud|nex is preprovisioned in over 100 datacenters across Europe.

With peer|nex, businesses in Düsseldorf can now connect to Internet Exchanges in London(LINX, Lonap), Paris (Panap, Sfinx), Frankfurt (DE-CIX), Dublin (Inex) and Amsterdam (AMS-IX, NL-ix). The solution is delivered on-demand for instant connectivity.

Primarily interesting for financial institutions is trade|nex: on-demand Gig, 10GigE connectivity between all major European Stock Exchanges and clearing houses on a near zero-latency network for next generation automated and algorithmic trading.

Highspeed connections and high value services from city to city and within the cities for the'last mile'

"Düsseldorf is the dynamic economic center of the Western part of Germany. The city is characterized by traditional industrial production, modern industries such as telecommunications as well as a broad range of services. We are very pleased to be able to offer these highly reliable, extreme performance communication solutions to Düsseldorf businesses," says Noel Meaney, CEO of euNetworks.

As opposed to major telecommunications companies such as Deutsche Telekom which target primarily the consumer market, euNetworks offers its network and services exclusively to companies and institutions, network operators and service providers. The high-speed connections and extreme performance services are not only available between cities, but also within the urban areas. The metropolitan networks in 15 major European cities have more than a million fiber kilometers at their disposal and provide 'last mile' fiber connections within major business and industrial parks, educational institutions, financial and government districts as well as internet exchanges.

euNetworks' fiber-optic infrastructure in Düsseldorf covers the most important business and industrial districts of the city, including the city center with its many service providers, the area around Düsseldorf airport with the industrial zones at Lichtenbroich, Unterrath and Rath as well as the industrial estates to the South of the city at Reisholz, Hassels and Holthausen.

Companies based on the industrial estate at Niederkassel on the left bank of the river Rhine also benefit from the services and network infrastructure provided by euNetworks. Twelve data centers are already connected to euNetworks' backbone in Düsseldorf. More will follow.

Additionally, euNetworks' all-fiber optic network in Düsseldorf is linked to a pan-European network with connections between Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France and Belgium. The pan-European long-haul network is 6,611 kilometers long and connects in excess of 40 cities, including city networks for the 'last mile' in 15 European centers: Frankfurt a.M., Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Hanover, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, London and Dublin.
