2013 EPTDA Annual Convention in Venice broke all records of attendance celebrating its 15th year anniversary

(PresseBox) (Brüssel, ) EPTDA Annual Conventions are a leading event in EMEA for power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) decision makers. With great spirits, EPTDA (EMEA Power Transmission Distributors Association) draws the veil on a successful business convention in Venice - which will go down in the organisation's history as one of the biggest and greatest events of its times. Hosted in the stunning backdrop of the magical city of Venice, the 2013 convention welcomed close to 400 decision makers, business owners and leaders from 182 qualified distributing, manufacturing and guest companies in the PT/MC industry.

The EPTDA Annual Conventions are recognised by professionals in the sector as the one and only business platform in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It facilitates over 800 B2B meetings between distributors and manufacturers at its much wanted Manufacturer-Distributor IDea EXchange (MD-IDEX).

The EPTDA Annual Convention not only brings together member companies but also attracts qualified non-members to experience the strengths of EMEA's leading PT/MC organisation. More than 30 countries were represented this year from all around the world signalling the incredible growth of the association.

The convention programme included the presentation of the five year strategic business plan, renewed vision and mission of the EPTDA with strong focus on adding value for end users and strengthening the supply chain. The association announced its commitment to expand its footprint in the Middle East and Africa region. At the same time, it launched a brand new website featuring the "Product Locator" micro-site, a unique channel to promote EPTDA members, their products and services to customers according to the highest standards. Leading keynote speakers of Europe, Dr Kjell Nordström and Stéphane Garrelli, took the stage and drew attention on fundamental issues on the future demographic shifts and the need for innovation to stay competitive. Alan Beaulieu, EPTDA's economic navigator, who made his fourth appearance in Venice for EPTDA, gave insights into the economic dimension of home and emerging markets.

EPTDA also hosted a dedicated Distribution Forum themed "Changing Futures Together" to address the challenges facing industrial distribution in EMEA.

Continuing its strive for ethical business and social responsibility, EPTDA this year supported Italian charity IESCUM (European Institute for the Study of Human Behaviour). EPTDA, members and convention delegates contributed altogether EUR 10,900- to IESCUM's research activities for the alleviation of developmental disorders such as autism.
