EOP Biodiesel AG: Biodiesel is not affected by the current biodiesel debate

Blending quota of biodiesel is guaranteed – the Association of German Automotive Dealers (ZDK) does not see any problems with an increase in the biodiesel blending quota

Pritzwalk, (PresseBox) - The current debate about the compatibility of bio-fuels in cars only deals with the blending of ethanol for petrol, and not the addition of biodiesel to mineral diesel. This is pointed out by EOP Biodiesel AG. "Our business model is not affected by the discussion, because we already exclusively supply biodiesel for blending to the mineral oil industry," says CEO Sven Schön. The blending quota of biodiesel to mineral diesel is currently scheduled to be increased from 2009 onwards from 5% to 7%. According to the Association of German Automotive Dealers (ZDK) this is not a problem for the current diesel engine powered cars in use. "This quota increase would mean a growth of our relevant market in Germany by 40%. EOP Biodiesel AG is firmly committed to participate in this market growth in Germany from 2009 onward and continue to expand its market share," said Schön. Due to its ongoing annual contracts, EOP Biodiesel AG s production capacity utilization is currently at 75 percent.
