Working draft Network Code on Connection

Requirements Applicable to all Generators updated

(PresseBox) (Brussels, ) ENTSO-E releases an update of the working draft of the Network Code on Connection Requirements Applicable to all Generators. This release is intended to provide full transparency on the results of the informal and ongoing formal preparatory work, following the publication of ACER's corresponding framework guidelines. With this publication ENTSO-E wishes to facilitate discussions on the network code with stakeholders in the coming months, before entering public consultation towards end of January 2012.

A public consultation on the network code is expected to start by end of January 2012 and will be announced by ENTSO-E on its website. At that moment ENTSO-E will also publish an update of the network code Frequently Asked Questions and a position paper to justify the technical requirements of the code.

In the coming months the present state of the network code and its development process will be communicated throughout Europe via national user-groups and in regional ENTSO-E workshops. Two of these workshops are scheduled to take place on 12 December in Zagreb and 14 December in Stockholm respectively and both will also cover ENTSO-E's Ten-Year Network Development Plan 2012. ENTSO-E will announce all workshops separately in due time.

Stakeholders are informed that this network code is a working draft to better support the above-mentioned discussions. Any comments given on this working draft document other than in meetings or during the ENTSO-E workshops will be taken into consideration as informal; therefore, there will be no dedicated answer to these comments.

An intensive pilot process started in the summer of 2009 and ended with the publication of the draft Requirements for Generators in March 2011 and an extensive treatment of all received comments.

The development of the Network Code on Connection Requirements Applicable to all Generators entered its formal phase after receiving an invitation letter by the EC on 29 July 2011. The EC officially requested ENTSO-E to draft this network code in line with Regulation (EC) 714/2009 and based on the Framework Guidelines on Electricity Grid Connection, published by ACER on 20 July 2011. Based on ACER's final framework guidelines, ENTSO-E continues to update the draft in collaboration with the agency and to consult with stakeholders.
