ENTSO-E to Review Network Code on Forward Capacity Allocation

Brussels, (PresseBox) - ENTSO-E announced in a letter today to ACER the intention to amend and resubmit the Network Code on Forward Capacity Allocation (NC FCA) in light of the Agency's opinion.

In its reasoned opinion published on the 20 December 2013, the Agency, while recognising ENTSO-E's efforts to align the FCA code to the Framework Guideline on Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (CACM), outlined five issues where it considered that adjustments are required.

While ENTSO-E agrees that in a few specific areas there may be scope for amendments addressing ACER's remarks, we are convinced that the FCA code is a highly ambitious code in line with the CACM framework guidelines. ENTSO-E is open to amending the text to more clearly reflect how the code meets the framework guidelines.

We are confident that the introduction of a number of well-placed text enhancements will satisfactorily address the Agency's observations and enable it to issue a recommendation to the European Commission.

Against this background, ENTSO-E aims to resubmit an updated version of the FCA code by the end of Q1 2014 at the latest.
