ENTSO-E Invites Interested Parties to Join User Group for Network Code on HVDC Connections

To create a transparent and efficient forum to liaise with interested industry parties in the development of the forthcoming network code on HVDC Connections, ENTSO-E is initiating a dedicated User Group. ENTSO-E’s expectations of the User Group members and a preliminary timetable for developing this code are outlined in an open letter. Expressions of interest should be submitted to ENTSO-E before 1 March 2013.

In line with the three-year work programme, the EC mandate to develop a network code dedicated to HVDC connectors and DC connected off-shore Power Park Modules (such as wind) is expected in the coming months. This HVDC network code will be aligned with ACER’s framework guidelines on electricity grid connections and build on the content and experience of the preceding codes.

In order to engage in a comprehensive and transparent manner with relevant industry organisations, ENTSO-E is initiating an HVDC User Group. This group will be a key forum for continuous stakeholder interaction throughout the code’s development. ENTSO-E has published an invitation letter, which includes background information and expectations for the group. Interested parties are invited to contact Edwin Haesen by 1 March 2013. The first User Group meeting is scheduled for 12 March 2013, in Brussels.
