EnterpriseDB Advanced Server is the award-winning, enterprise-class relational database management system(RDBMS) that runs many applications written for Oracle unchanged. The general availability release of EnterpriseDB Advanced Server 8.2, available since June, includes enhanced Oracle compatibility and easy migration from Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Sybase databases. In addition, it incorporates all of the many performance and feature upgrades of Postgres 8.2, the world´s most advanced open source database.
EnterpriseDB Advanced Server 8.2 supports the Oracle Call Interface (OCI), a set of APIs used to interact with Oracle databases. This significantly broadens the range of Oracle applications that can run on EnterpriseDB with little or no modification.
