Die Anforderungen an elektromechanische Verbindungen von Halbleitern steigen stetig. Miniaturisierung ist das höchste Ziel und immer mehr Anschlüsse müssen auf kleinstem Raum untergebracht werden. Mechanisch wird absolute Zuverlässigkeit über den ganzen Temperaturbereich, am besten von -55°C bis +175°C, erwartet. Elektrisch hingegen soll das Kontaktmedium möglichst unsichtbar sein und Frequenzen z.B. für Radaranwendungen bis 70GHz übertragen.

Für derart hohe Anforderungen stellt Ironwood Electronics kundenspezifische Sockellösungen zur Verfügung. Ein Mikrocontroller im Ball Grid Gehäuse, der durchaus 400 Kontakte auf 6x6mm2 aufweist, wird z.B. mittels eines eigens entwickelten Elastomers zuverlässig kontaktiert. Die Signalintegrität ist dabei herausragend. Bei 75GHz zeigen Simulationen und Messungen unter Vbgdewipxfoejxy Sxvgctvm pro mac 9aH.
