Control room temperature and air humidity in the KNX system

Gechingen, (PresseBox) - The temperature sensor KNX T-UP (left) can display own temperature values and in addition values received via the bus. This also allows for showing for instance the time. The display offers up to three lines for different values. The temperature sensor is mounted in an equipment box at the wall and is supplemented by a frame of the switch programme used in the house. In that way it perfectly adjusts to the interior.

The KNX-T-Objekt-UP (middle) is installed under a dummy cover. The appropriate choice of frame and cover results in a continuous appearance as well.

Both sensors can process an extern value apart from their own value and then calculate a mixed value (e.g. average temperature in big rooms). The proportions of own and extern value can be adjusted percentagewise in this case. Four threshold values and logic connections are offered by the temperature sensors, a heating and cooling system can be operated via the bus directly form KNX T-UP or KNX T-Objekt-UP (PI regulation). All settings are made via the KNX software ETS.

The device with display is also available as a combined thermo-hygrometer KNX TH-UP (right): in addition to temperature, this allows for measurement of the absolute and relative air humidity and calculation of the dew point. Mixed values may also be processed in this case. Apart from a heating and a cooling system (via temperature), the KNX TH-UP can also control a ventilation with one or two stage(s) via the humidity value. This allows for adhering to the desired nominal values by means of regulated heating / cooling.
