Elektor Promotes STMicroelectronics' NFC Technology to Electronics Engineering Community

35,000 free ST25 NFC tags distributed with Elektor Magazine edition January & February 2016; 500 prizes to be won

Aachen, (PresseBox) - Elektor International Media (EIM) has partnered with STMicroelectronics in the promotion on a global scale of ST’s latest ST25 NFC tag technology. EIM’s renowned electronics & embedded technology journal, Elektor Magazine, not only presents a technical background article on the functionality and operation of ST’s ST25 NFC tag technology, but also supplies an STMicroelectronics-sponsored ST25 NFC tag to all readers of the journal’s January & February 2016 edition. The business card-sized NFC tags will be attached to the front cover of each magazine copy. The NFC background article was written by Elektor freelance contributor Martin Cooke aiming to introduce engineers to the vast potential of the ST25 NFC technology for projects and applications.

STMicroelectronics’ new family of NFC/RFID tags with ISO/IEC 14443 RF interface supporting NDEF memory and 128-bit password protection, has recently been added to the Company’s NFC portfolio. The new ST25TA family of tags conforms to the NFC Forum Type-4 Tag RF interface with built-in NDEF (NFC Data Exchange Format) message support. There are currently five different products available with embedded EEPROM memory density ranging from 512 bits to 64 Kbits.

Besides giving away approximately 35,000 ST25 NFC tags to Elektor Magazine Gold Members reading the journal in one of four languages (English, German, Dutch, French), EIM and STMicroectronics also organize a massive prize raffle with 500 prizes for lucky winners entering their STMicroelectronics’ NFC card UID number on one of Elektor’s websites: www.elektormagazine.de/stm-nfc; www.elektormagazine.com/stm-nfc; www.elektormagazine.fr/stm-nfc; www.elektormagazine.nl/stm-nfc.

These websites were specially created by EIM for the ST25 NFC promotion and are automatically accessed by holding the free NFC tag close to an Android smartphone or tablet. The lucky winners of the Elektor and STMicroelectronics prize raffle will be announced by the end of March 2016 in Elektor’s e-zine (all language editions).
