The new bigger EA DOGL128-6 Modules from ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY with 128x64 dots now can be used with the EA TOUCH128-2. This is a 4-wire resistive Touch with a self glueing backside to stick it directly to the display surface. For the connection it has a 4-pin flexible cable FFC with a pitch of 1.0mm and a length of about 25mm. On these 4 pins 4 electrodes along the sides "left", "right" and "top", "bottom" are connected. A fitting ZIF connector can be supplied also.

For utilization it can be used either a µController with analogue inputs or a separate external touch panel Controller. The touch panel works like a potentiometer. The resistance value of the 2 touch levels is in the range of several hundred Ohms. To evaluate the position of the touch you need 2 steps. For the horizontal position you have to put a voltage of e.g. 3.3V to the "left" and "right" electrodes. Now you can measure the position value at the "top" or "bottom" electrodes. For the vertical position you have to put the voltage to "top" and "bottom" and measure the value at "left" or "right".

For best readability when using a touch panel it is recommended to use a display with back light. The LED-back lights for the DOGLModules are available in the colours white, yellow/green, blue, red, amber, green and full colour RGB. The extreme high brightness at low power consumption make sure that the readability is excellent.

ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY has various designs in their chip-on-glass family. Available is a little bit smaller DOGM-Series also with 128x64 dots and also with touch as well as a version with 132x32 dots and 3 text displays with 1x8, 2x16 and 3x16 character. With these products you have in total more than 200 possibilities for combinations.
