Mit dem SBF-CROSSOVER stellt EKF eine neue Baugruppe für CompactPCI® Serial Systeme vor. Auf der Leiterplatte befinden sich unter anderem vier USB 3.0 Controller, und zwei Gigabit Ethernet NICs, alle auf Frontstecker verdrahtet. Ein PCI Express® Mini Card Sockel kann unter anderem mit einem Feldbus I/O Modul bestückt werden, etwa für CAN-FD. Ein Quad Port UART ist nützlich für die Kommunikation über RS-232 oder RS-485.

Die Baugruppe kann in jedem PCI Express® Peripheral Slot einer CompactPCI® Serial Backplane betrieben werden. Alle I/O Bausteine sind über einen PCIe® Switch angebunden.
