Am vergangenen Samstag ist der Ikea-Gründer Ingvar Kamprad im Alter von 91 Jahren verstorben. 1943 gründete der damals 17-jährige das heute weltweit bekannte Unternehmen in Schweden und 31 Jahre später eröffnete die erste Filiale in Deutschland. Mittlerweile betreibt der Konzern hierzulande mehr als 50 Möbelhäuser und erwirtschaftete im Jahr 2017 einen Nettoumsatz von 4,9 Mrd. Euro bei einem Umsatzwachstum von 2,4 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Auch die Online-Umsätze entwickelten sich mit einem Umsatzplus von 30,7 Prozent auf 304 Millionen Euro in 2017 weiter positiv. Zum Erfolg der Möbelhäuser trägt auch das beliebte Gastronomie-Konzept bei.
