The European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT) enters American Market via Distribution and Licensing Agreement with Major US Provider of Managed Services
Leading Provider of Managed Services implements ECT Solution to host Ring Back Tone Services for Four Major Carriers in the United States
The multi-carrier solution made possible by the technology of ECT is highly attractive for hosting centres, as it addresses the need for synergies and shared operations across multiple clients. The utilization of a shared platform for several carriers keeps both CAPEX and OPEX to a minimum, while still allowing each carrier to have its own web, WAP, SMS and IVR user interfaces as well as its own content. Each carrier can also have its own billing and provisioning interfaces.
Through its direct sales channels in Europe, ECT has achieved outstanding growth and high profitability. New distribution and licensing agreements now allow ECT to augment the direct sales activities worldwide with managed service solutions provided by ECT’s local partners, such as the leading provider of managed services, Ericsson. Under the direction of André von Appen, Vice-President Indirect Sales, ECT has a separate division which encompasses a full range of activities – including sales, presales, project management, implementation and post-sales – needed to ensure that ECT’s partners and their customers receive first-rate support across the entire value chain.
Hosting is a good business model for operators when launching new services. ECT’s local managed service partner takes responsibility for content aggregation, ingestion and publishing of the ring back tones service, delivering a true end-to-end solution based on ECT’s INtellECT® Platform. The ring back tone service allows wireless customers to use songs or other sounds to replace the standard tone callers hear as they wait for their call to be answered.

All services are programmed in the open ECTXML® Extensible Mark-up Language. ECTXML® applications run on our INtellECT® Platform, which simultaneously supports calls to and from legacy networks, IP-based softswitches and converged networks based on the new industry standard IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
