concept victor 0864 - on track to a new software generation

(PresseBox) (Kempen, ) EAT - The DesignScope Company - Inventors of the world-famous DesignScope® Software for electronic patterning in the areas of Jacquard & Dobby Weaving and Jacquard & Multibar Raschel Knitting is presenting a new concept and several new ideas for future software features.

Managing Director Klaus P. Lepka: "New technologies call for new developments. And they open doors for new functions and software features. We are not questioning what is there now, but we want to give a new perspective on what will possibly be the reality next year."

The world has entered the WINDOWS(TM) Vista® and optionally, the 64 Bit age, and so has DesignScope® victor. The software will smoothly run on Vista even before ITMA opens their doors. At the same time, DesignScope® victor will be introduced in a new look: New icon shapes, new working surface, new menus, but as always with EAT: Improved user-friendly icon-based dialogues.

But there is more to Vista than just the looks! Vista enables the use of 32 Bit and 64 Bit technology. EAT is currently exploring the possibilities of this technology and also wants to open this discussion with the customers from all over the world.

How fast is 64 Bit? Which functions and features would be possible? How can the software profit from this? And how will that have a positive effect on the textile designer's work and a textile mill's daily production process?

At this stage, EAT calls this process "concept victor 0864".

The concept takes into account what is possible in the near future. EAT is now showing the first developments in this direction. And, moreover, there are several new functions, features and ideas that are an integral part of "concept victor 0864".

LoomNet victor, the loom networking software for a fully connected weaving mill, will have new features. Among those: The control of Stäubli JC-6 looms will be fully integrated into the software. In addition, there will be some new functionalities in the database program DesignBase victor.

A new software feature in DesignScope® victor will be the LoomEditor. So far only displayed in a mathematical table, the whole weaving loom is now available and visible in graphical mode with many editing functions for better machine setup and control.

Many new functions have been added to the Design- and Editing tools of the software. Certain editing features have been updated and some new vector-related functions will be available for DesignScope® victor: Like DesignBook. It works like the Gallery of loadable files, but in addition allows to simply drag & drop the motives on display into a running function within the designing or technical working process. In addition, a Navigator function helps the user find their zoom-location within the design currently in editing.

Capture the whole range of software functions and still have enough space to display your current design? EAT now offers the possibility of running 2 monitors as active working surfaces simultaneously on one system.

And EAT now offers ImageDif: A program tool to automatically compare designs, patterns, images or even jacquard production files (red/white, JC files). The program will display differences, similarities and mistakes and may become an important pre-production evaluation tool.

With the new Leno-technology in the DesignScope® victor Dobby, it is now possible to also create, display and produce all kinds of gauze wovens with cross weaves.

And for the newest Karl Mayer Jacquard Raschel Knitting machines, EAT's DesignScope® victor Raschel now offers its own guide bars on display, for editing and for production preparation.
