EADS Defence & Security to deliver a complete TETRA network to OJSC Surgutneftegas, a Russian leading oil and gas company

EADS Defence & Security (DS) has been awarded a contract for the extension of the Surgutneftegas TETRA network. The project will complete the experimental EADS network already implemented, replacing the existing analog network.

DS, through its line of business Security & Communication Solutions, has teamed up with T-Helper, its Value Added Reseller in Russia, to implement the radio network, which comprises around 25 Base Stations. The network will provide radio coverage for the Surgutneftegas oil and gas fields, as well as a Surgutneftegas pipeline part. The project is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2009.
