7th European LS-DYNA Conference was a big success

(PresseBox) (Stuttgart, ) The 7th European LS-DYNA Conference was held in Salzburg, Austria, 14th - 15th May. The conference was organized by DYNAmore supported by the European LS-DYNA distributors Arup, Alyotech and Engineering Research and by LSTC.

More than 330 participants from 25 countries took the opportunity to get informed about the newest developments, trends and applications in and around LS-DYNA. More than 140 interesting lectures have been given by experienced users from universities, research institutes and industry. The accompanying hard- and software exhibition consisted of more than 30 companies provid-ing software tools and services in the area of crash simulation, passenger safety and metal forming analysis.

The comprehensive possibilities to get actual information about LS-DYNA, the international knowledge exchange and the tech-nical discussions across country borders made this European conference a big success.

Beside interesting plenary talks given by the car manufacturers BMW, Daimler, Porsche and Jaguar Landrover, who offered a comprehensive overview about the actual trends and challenges in crash and passenger safety simulation, interesting lectures given by Siemens with applications from the railway industry, by the Technical University Vienna about results in the area of wood modeling, and by NTNU Trondheim about crashworthiness of aluminum structures enriched the conference program.

In addition to the plenary sessions, six parallel sessions with user talks from all application areas of LS-DYNA were scheduled. Lecturers from industry and science presented their latest expe-riences in crash and passenger safety simulation, pedestrian protection, airbag, materials, optimization, metal forming, fluid structure interaction, process optimization as well as complemen-tary software tools in the area of data processing and data man-agement.

The 11th International LS-DYNA conference will take place 6th - 8th June 2010 in Detroit, USA.
