DVC Digitalvideo Computing at IBC2006

DVC will present the following highlights at IBC 2006, booth 6.104

(PresseBox) ( Herrsching am Ammersee, )
megacine, DVC's new Mobile Digital Field Recorder The portable field recorder megacine offers small size, comfortable handling and one (HD) to eight (SD) ours of recording time for uncompressed image data. The great advantages of megacine are the available recording time and the functionality as a recorder. Nearly any data format from DC-SDI Dual Link down to SD can be stored. 11.5 x 8 x 8 inches are the dimensions of the field recorder that has a recording capacity of 60 minutes in uncompressed, lossless HDTV resolution (10 bits RGB 4:4:4) 1080/25 psf or DC resolution (12 bits 4:4:4 XYZ) 1080/24p. The recorded sequences can be played back in the same quality as they are captured or they can be down-converted into other standards or frame rates. megacine stores each video frame separately as an independent file, so that direct access for non-linear editing is immediately possible. The data transmission to the host computer is realized via FireWire (IEEE1394a) with approximately 400 Mbit/s or Fibrechannel with 2 Gbit/s.

Furthermore DVC will show ScreenDisk CV830, an Ultra-High-End Video Workstation for Video Analysis Applications and uncompressed 4k, 2k & HD playback. The ScreenDisk CV830 is based on the Fujitsu Siemens V830 with Dual AMD Opteron™ Dual-Core Processors and ClearView Software allows the viewing of multiple video sequences on the same video display or on multiple displays. Some of the available viewing modes are Pan, Zoom, Jog/Shuttle video sequences Side by Side, Mirror and A-B. Outputs are DVI, VGA, dual-link HD-SDI up to 1920x1080@120Hz. For input formats ScreenDisk CV830 can load virtually any file format known in the industry. As new feature ScreenDisk offers an DVI / VGA input to capture uncompressed video at resolutions up to 1920x1200 at 50/60 frames per second. ScreenDisk CV830 is the ideal analysis workstation for video researchers, software compression developers, video hardware designers and for trade show presentation.
