T-Online now offers “.eu” domains to customers of its Homepage products
According to EURid there are currently 23,000 active .eu domains (as per 3 April 2006) – more than one-third of which are operated in Germany. With a “.eu“ domain, companies especially have the opportunity to enjoy a Europe-wide presence with a single uniform Internet address, and to use it as the basis of their international business. Additional advantage: with the “.eu” domain suffix, private individuals, companies and organizations can now secure their desired address even if it may already be taken at “.de” or “.com”.
In order to apply for a .eu domain with the European Registry of Internet Domain Names (EURid), at least one branch of the company or residence of private individuals must be located in a member state of the European Community. Upon successful registration, the customer’s Internet page is accessible via the “.eu” domain.
