Complement to GSMA press release about joyn
In order to facilitate consumer recognition and understanding of RCS, a consumer-facing brand has been developed on behalf of the industry. The GSMA today launched the new brand, joyn, which represents ubiquity, security, service quality and interconnection and will be available for operators to use in order to give one global 'face' to RCS services. joyn is device- and networkaware, which means it automatically 'knows and shows' ways to share with contacts via chat, video, call or files, at any moment in time.
In a reaction René Obermann, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, says:
"joyn will bring a new experience of multimedia-based communication that will exceed existing text messages, voice, photos and videos. At the same time, joyn will be very easy to access and use. For instance, customers will no longer have to worry about which of their contacts uses which messaging service and how to best reach them. We will launch the first devices in Germany this summer."
Experience our products and services live at CeBIT from March 6 - 10 at the Deutsche Telekom stand in hall 4, stand D26. Deutsche Telekom's entire presence at the trade fair is carbon-neutral: All CO2 emissions generated in setting up and operating the stand are offset fully by carbon-reduction projects abroad.
