T-Systems vernetzt europaweit alle ALDI Nord Filialen. Über dieses speziell gesicherte Netz (Virtual Private Network) laufen künftig Warenbestellungen, der elektronische Zahlungsverkehr und die Anbindung von externen Dienstleistern (wie der Betreiber des Leergutautomaten).
Das VPN der rund 5'000 Filialen wird zusätzlich in logische Subnetze (Virtual Local Area Networks) unterteilt. Das gewährleistet, dass die unterschiedlichen Datenströme zwar durch die gleiche Leitung, jedoch streng voneinander abgeschirmt laufen.
