New Intelligent Displays at the 2010 electronica

demmel products presents its newest 3" "Next Generation Intelligent LCD" (iLCD), at the electronica 2010 at Booth 434 in Hall A3

Vienna/Munich-Graefelfing, (PresseBox) - By adding a low-cost model to the existing product portfolio of intelligent displays, even price-sensitive applications and low quantity production runs can now be equipped with a color display. Development costs are almost completely eliminated and time-to-market is shortened significantly by using iLCDs.

The extremely compact 240 x 400 pixel touch screen iLCD is optimized for landscape mode but can also be operated in portrait mode.

All iLCD panels can store any desired Windows font, static and animated graphics, text messages and macros in the iLCD controller's flash memory. iLCDs offer USB, RS232, I²C and SPI interfaces and can even be controlled with a microcontroller costing as little as 50 cents. The large number of very powerful high-level commands is easy to learn, no programming language is required.

Color iLCD panels are available from 2.8" (240 x 320 pixel) to 10.2" (1024 x 600 pixel) and every model comes with the same set of commands and electrical connections. If necessary, iLCDs of different sizes can easily be swapped without having to modify either the hardware or software of the controlling application. On larger iLCDs, the internal 32 MB flash memory can be extended thanks to a micro SD card holder.

iLCD panels include a battery-buffered real-time clock, interface options for a keyboard matrix, relays and signal transmitters as well as additional digital and analog inputs and outputs which further reduces hardware complexity.

Another electronica 2010 premier: To kick-off the worldwide distribution of the majority of demmel products' iLCD product line, Farnell GmbH will be exhibiting them for the first time at their Booth 558 in Hall A5 on November 11th.

demmel products

demmel products' "Next Generation Intelligent LCD" (iLCD) technology enables the user to store all necessary Windows fonts, graphics, text templates and macros in the flash memory of the iLCD's controller. This considerably reduces the development time normally required for the pixel-based programming process of conventional LCDs. iLCD panels can be accessed through legacy control systems or operated by low-cost microcontrollers using high-level commands.

iLCDs are used in a wide variety of applications and industries. Customers include globally operating companies such as the Erich NETSCH GmbH & Co. Holding KG, ROFIN Baasel Lasertech, Frog AGV Systems B.V. (HQ) or Re-Age Italia.
