"I am honored to succeed Matt in continuing to build the Tribal DDB brand. A key element to Tribal DDB's success has been this collective group that has built Tribal from the ground up into a global digital powerhouse. Having worked alongside him for eight years, I have a clear vision of Tribal's brand foundations and future. I greatly look forward to growing its success with this global management team," said Paul Gunning.
"While it is hard to say goodbye to Tribal, I am thrilled to pass the baton to my friends and long time partners. Paul has been an invaluable asset to Tribal DDB Worldwide and I look forward to seeing the heights he will take the company to next," said Matt Freeman.
This core team has been with Tribal DDB Worldwide collectively for more than five years and has served as the global management committee, leading to its great fiscal success across all regions, and most recently being the first digital agency to ever win AdAge's Global Agency Network of the Year. The strategic structure is reflective of the core strengths and roles within the global management committee.
"In this additional role of Chief Strategic Officer I will concentrate on what I always have, leveraging scale and focus on new products and strategic tools, both for Tribal DDB and for our clients," said Stephan Beringer. "The interplay of each individual's strengths and experience among the Tribal management team has built a true digital force and I look forward furthering its growth."
Prior to this promotion, Paul was President of Tribal DDB East, responsible for the management of Tribal DDB Chicago and New York. He served on the management committee of Tribal DDB Worldwide, where he played a key role in setting the strategic, operational and financial direction for the company. Paul is largely credited with its substantial new business wins across the network, from McDonald's to Lowe's and more.
Gunning also served as vice president, general manager of Tribal DDB Chicago, where he developed the largest office in the Tribal DDB network.
