True Fleet Market Europe with highest growth rate since almost one year
May 2016 showed a remarkable result for the French True Fleet Market with an impressive growth rate of + 29.6 per cent. The top-25 brands increased their fleet volume over May 2015 without exception. The market leader Renault was even able to raise its registrations by + 55.1 per cent thus extending its market share to almost 22 per cent. Nissan, BMW and Mercedes on ranks number five to seven all boosted their fleet registrations by more than 30 per cent.
Another double-digit increase for True Fleets in May (+ 12.4 per cent). This positive result slightly has to be put in perspective since May 2015 was relatively weak due to strikes and reduced deliveries of vehicles. Within the top-10 Ford and Nissan each showed a stunning performance. Ford in fifth place achieved a growth of + 40.3 per cent. Nissan jumped from rank number 13 on 10th position with + 72.8 per cent.
The Italian fleet market is really accelerating. After a growth rate of + 22.4 per cent last month the result in May was even better: + 29.7 per cent compared to May 2015. A total volume of more than 38,000 Passenger Cars is the highest monthly volume ever for True Fleets in Italy! Renault gained three positions in the brand ranking (from 9th to 6th place) with an increase of + 79.0 per cent. Smart more than doubled its fleet registrations (+ 124.9 per cent) and ranked in 9th position.
The recovery of True Fleets in Spain is continuing with a surplus of + 16.0 per cent in May and + 15.3 per cent for the first five months. The current month was especially successful for Audi and Nissan both climbing by five positions in the ranking. Within Audi (number 5, + 73.1 per cent) the biggest part of the increase was generated by Audi A4 and A3. At Nissan (number 6, + 59.3 per cent) the Qashqai was shining: not only leading the SUV segment within True Fleets but even ranking in second position overall, beaten by the Renault Clio by only 5 registrations!
In comparison to the four markets mentioned above the growth rate in the United Kingdom seems to be rather moderate. But taking into account that 2015 was very strong for the fleet market the increase of + 5.7 per cent (May) and + 5.5 per cent (January-May) is no reason for dissatisfaction at all. The positions on the podium remained unchanged with Opel/Vauxhall in the lead followed by Ford and Volkswagen. Mercedes ranked fourth thus overtaking Audi and Nissan.
