Dalim Software, a global leader in the design and development of innovative and automated professional production workflow software for prepress, print, packaging, advertising and publishing and GretagMacbeth, the worldwide technological leader in colour measurement and management solutions, announce they have entered into a strategic agreement to integrate GretagMacbeth's colour management engine into Dalim Software's award-winning line of automated premedia production solutions. The GretagMacbeth Colour Management Module performs the actual conversion of colour data from one space to another with the aid of ICC profiles.

The ability to maintain colour consistency between devices requires use of a colour management system in which print and graphics companies have confidence. GretagMacbeth continues to make consistent colour reproduction accessible for a wider range of markets and applications. GretagMacbeth has its own LogoSync colour transformation engine, which can be licensed to other companies. By implementing GretagMacbeth's colour management toolsets, including Eye-One, ProfileMaker and others within the DALiM TWiST prepress workflow system and DALiM MiSTRAL/DALiM PRiNTEMPO web-based production management systems, premedia, print and publishing companies have access to a powerful production automation tool to better address the changing colour requirements of the industry. The use of GretagMacbeth's Colour Management Module will allow Dalim Software users to increase production workflow flexibility, automate various colour management tasks to an even higher degree and, thus, reduce the possibility of operator error or waste.

"As premedia has become more digital, the graphic arts industry views colour management in a much more serious light," explains Stéphane Georges, Dalim Software product manager. "With the rapid growth of RGB production workflows, the increasing popularity of the PDF/X-3-and soon, PDF/X-5-file formats and the technical considerations such as CMYK to CMYK colour conversions implicated in a global print production model, the need for a robust, proven colour management engine is more important than ever. GretagMacbeth's reputation in the industry is well renowned. We are delighted to offer Dalim Software users the ability to call upon the best colour management experience."

"Dalim Software takes another step forward in providing the industry with innovative, highly productive solutions," comments Jean-Yves Billon, VP WW OEM Business at GretagMacbeth. "In that light, we are pleased that Dalim Software considers GretagMacbeth's colour expertise valuable to Dalim Software users. Our company provides precise, fast, and easy-to-use colour control technologies that are instrumental in maintaining high quality colour in any medium. We are confident that our colour engine will assist them in their aim of better communications and control of colour across devices, locations, processes and industries."
