Daetwyler to strengthen its Technical Components Division management
The Board of Daetwyler Holding Inc. has appointed Dr. Markus Heusser as the new head of the Technical Components Division and a member of the Executive Management. He will take up his new position at the beginning of August 2010.
Until the end of 2009, Markus Heusser (43) headed Sulzer's Metco Thermal Spray division, the market leader in thermal coatings, generating some CHF 400 million in revenue, employing 800 people and offering more than 50,000 products. Today, Markus Heusser works directly for Sulzer's CEO, coordinating the Group-wide restructuring programme and leading major acquisition projects. Before joining Sulzer, Markus Heusser worked as a consultant and integration manager with McKinsey&Co for about seven years. Markus Heusser is a Swiss national and holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen and a doctor's degree in finance from the University of Fribourg.
This new appointment to the management of the Technical Components Division was prompted by the acquisitions of ELFA in spring 2008 and Reichelt at the beginning of 2010. Together with the previous companies, Maagtechnic and Distrelec, Daetwyler has four strong, well positioned brands in specialist and catalogue distribution across Europe. Daetwyler is seeking to exploit the existing growth potential by realising strategic synergies in purchasing, product management, catalogue production and market development activities.
For this challenging position, Markus Heusser brings significant experience in strategy development, integration projects and the distribution of complex product ranges, making him the ideal person to complement and strengthen the Daetwyler Group's Executive Management.
