Cube Optics Secures RUS Acceptance for Network Cube Products

RUS Acceptance enables loans and grants for Rural USA broadband service providers

Mainz, (PresseBox) - Cube Optics announced that it has received RD Telecommunications acceptance from the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for its Network Cube line of WDM fiber Mux/Demux and add/drop multiplexer products. Network Cubes are deployed in over 30,000 locations worldwide to remedy fiber exhaust, service migration of SONET, ATM or TDM service to Ethernet, and expansion of mobile backhaul fiber capacity. The products are passive and multiply the connections possible on existing single or dual fiber links. Demonstrating an exemplary track record of zero field failures over nearly a decade of deployments, the Network Cube has proven to embody highest quality, is simple to deploy and yields the most cost efficient alternative to resolve fiber exhaust issues.

Inclusion in the "A" (Telecommunications) "List of Materials" by the USDA RUS Technical Standards Committee provides Independent Operating Companies (IOCs) and Rural Local Exchange Carriers (RLECs) financial support enabling economically viable services in sparsely populated rural areas and remotely situated users including farms, parks and forests. The RUS program facilitates loans and grants for planning, construction, procurement and upgrade of networks to ensure equal access to the internet for all Americans.

Mark Carpenter focuses on introducing the Cube Optics portfolio to Telecom operators and technology partners in the USA. North American installations have involved network operators extending the useful life of their existing fiber plants without installing new fiber. Mark states "The simplicity, scalability and robustness of Cube Optics solutions are ideally suited for bandwidth upgrades of middle mile, access and enterprise networks without significant modification of existing infrastructure".

Since starting business in 2000, Cube Optics AG has worked out of its design, engineering and prototype and production facilities Mainz, Germany. The enterprise grew out of innovations based on its proprietary polymer optical bench micro-injection molding technology. Cube Optics' business relies on the extreme precision, highest quality and premium performance afforded by ultra-compact packaging of its core multiplexing technology. Cube Optics offers the smallest available CWDM/WDM/WWDM packages conforming to Telcordia standards. The company maintains two business segments: the component segment which manufacturers a range of optical components and modules for use in networking equipment; and, a systems solutions segment supplying network operators with passive mass customized optical multiplexing and optical transport equipment for middle mile applications worldwide. Cube Optics operates its facilities according to ISO 9001 while meeting or exceeding CE and NEBS standards. All products met EU RoHS and REACH compliance long before the directives came into legal effect. Reputable investors including The Carlyle Group, Star Ventures, Target Partners and Sevin Rosen Funds have backed the enterprise which has operated profitability since 2009. A direct country-dedicated sales organization addresses both components and network solutions applications.
