ContiTech Kit Ensures That Things Run Smoothly
ContiTech provides V-ribbed belts and torsional vibration dampers in a kit / Retaining bolts and sealing rings also included / Optimal support for daily tasks at the repair shop
If the TVD fails, this can have serious consequences for the drive system: the torsional vibrations of the crankshaft are no longer absorbed, thereby damaging both the belt and the driven accessories. "Mechanics should therefore check belt pulleys for cracks, deformation or traces of corrosion each time the belt is replaced," recommends Markus Pirsch, marketing service manager at the ContiTech Power Transmission Group. "Since damage is not always evident, although it very much impairs the proper functioning of the engine nonetheless, replacement is advisable every 120,000 km."
The CONTI-V MULTIRIB® KIT from ContiTech minimizes the work required for installation and maintenance and provides optimal support for automotive mechanics in their day-to-day workshop practice. When replacing a belt, all required components are right at hand and optimally matched. Besides the belt pulley and the belt, the kits also include the required retaining bolts and sealing rings. The screws used are special OE screws which must be replaced when changing the TSD. The TVD kit is also listed in TecDoc, the digital information system which provides comprehensive purchasing data to independent spare parts dealers and workshops.
